RESULTS OF MY INDIA MISSION TRIP, April 2010

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

After a very long journey from Dallas to Chicago and then on to New Delhi, India… I had a hotel stay-over that night.  Rising early, we caught a flight to Ranchi, Jharkhand.  After checking into a room and getting a bite to eat, I was ready in spirit to begin the pastor’s conference ministry (but tired in body).   That evening, I began preaching to pastors that had traveled in from their village to Ranchi for the pastors conference.  Even though the language barrier was significant, I could look at their faces and see the hunger and desire to be touched by the living God.  This conference was from Wednesday through Saturday, and God moved in a very powerful way.  It is amazing to me how, without me knowing in the Dallas area, God would be stirring in the hearts and minds of pastors half way around the world (Ranchi, Jharkhand) in preparation to hear messages that He had placed upon my heart for them!  What amazing evidence of the wonderful love and power of God to accomplish what He desires – the way He chooses to do it – with whom He selects to do it!!!  Praise be to God!  No language barrier will stop Him, no threats will stop Him, no problem will stop Him… i.e. all things are possible!

After the pastors conference, we held a crusade in Ranchi.  Then on Sunday I preached the gospel in a local church within the city.  God poured out His spirit in both settings.  People were changed and transformed.  Upon the completion of this ministry, we raced to pick up our things and headed to the airport. It was now time to begin our journey to Kerala in south India.  We flew from Ranchi to Bombay and spent the night.  We rose early to board a flight to Kerala the next day.  After landing and collecting our bags, we then traveled by car three hours to our destination, using it as a base of operation.   The next two evenings, we held crusades in Dadu’s hometown village, about 30 miles out into the country.  It was a great privilege to preach in his hometown.  After all of this ministry, the next day I started the 36 hour return to Dallas!  This was a grueling trip…but so worth it.

Even though words can’t describe the move of God adequately, allow me to summarize the most significant events of my trip:

1. Pastor’s Conference Ministry

One of the leaders that came shared with me after the meetings what he had been thinking.   He told me that he came to the conference only to respect Dadu’s invitation, not really expecting anything.  He had been to many conferences and had organized hundreds of pastors conferences over his 35 years of ministry.  So, based upon his past experience, “This would be some nice meetings and everything would be like before,” he said. Two things happened:  He went home after the first meeting and fell on his bed weeping before the Lord asking God to restore and re-ignite his spirit.  As the conference came to a close and the move of God was so powerful, he said, he had “never been so moved by God in the Spirit by such preaching!”  He went on to say, “Please return every year.  We need you here preach to us that we might be refreshed, motivated and challenged to go forward in Christ preaching the Word of Truth!”

During one of the sermons, I mentioned that the church of Jesus Christ had lost the desire to “cry out for mercy” from God and that we had allowed ourselves to think more highly of ourselves than we should.  I went on to share many other truths during my sermon.  What happened next I was not prepared for…

During the decision time, the music was playing … the call was put before the pastors to be what God wanted them to be, submitting to Him and trusting Him for their ministries, people, and lives….

All of a sudden the Spirit of God fell on them…all of them began to break before the Lord, falling to their knees, crying out to God for mercy, weeping … we stopped the music completely.

All you could hear were the cries of the pastors, rising up to the Lord, filling the air, tears of joy…the breaking of strongholds in their lives…confessing their weaknesses, and asking for increased faith… WOW!!!

Pastors crying out for mercy!

Oh my God…my God…have mercy upon us…they cried out… this continued on for almost an hour… it was a powerful demonstration of God descending upon His people and a pure heart response to His presence!!!  IT WAS AWESOME!!

At the very end of the conference we had a testimony time for the pastors.  Many pastors came forward sharing how much they had been changed by God.  But one pastor shared that about a year ago he was dragged from his home by Hindu radicals, beaten and left for dead because he had been preaching Jesus Christ to the village.  Since that time, he had been living in fear and had not shared Christ the way God wanted him to.  He was just too afraid!  “Now,” he said, “God has replaced my fear with faith and I am going back to my village to preach boldly the Word of God!”  I began to weep realizing that persecution of believers is very real, very personal and this pastor was set free to preach again!  Praise God!  Please pray for the pastors there to have boldness and God’s protection!

2. Crusades

During our crusades, we had at lease 50 people accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and many were healed.  This is wonderful to know that this many people will now meet us in heaven and have a new life here on earth.   Glory!

3. Church ministry

One of many amazing things happened during my preaching at the local church in Ranchi.  It was 112 degrees outside, no air conditioning inside, only a fan stirring the hot air.  I preached on how important it is to see Jesus alive in our lives as believers.  Upon my sermon invitation to the church, the entire church came forward and cried out to God.  There were 200 people weeping and singing unto the Lord.  This went on for about 30 minutes.  At this point, we had to leave to collect our things and go the airport to fly out to Bombay.  The pastor of the church waved me to him and began to tell me, “For a year, I have been praying for a spiritual breakthrough in our church.  Today, God has answered my prayer!”   What a joy, what a fellowship, what a privilege!

Church Break Through!

Even though I was traveling on a shoestring budget…(never before had I travel with so little money half way around the world)… God moved just as powerfully! He was faithful, His will was done, pastors were changed and transformed, churches moved to a new level in Christ, and people were added to the kingdom of God!

This is what I consider a wonderful success for the kingdom.  Praise be to God for His faithfulness to me, to allow me to go and Take Christ to the Nations!

If you have given to Walking in Truth Ministries, you are a part of this amazing work.  God is using you to do great things for pastors and people that no one else will go to; village pastors and people, the unreached and hard-to-reach areas.  Thank you for your support and please continue to pray and to send your support.  I need your help so much.  I would like to ask you to consider giving monthly to Walking in Truth Ministries…we are making a difference in the Kingdom of God.  There are more pastors to be stirred in the spirit and the gospel of Jesus Christ to be preached!  Please give so we can share!  God bless you as you live for Him.
