RESULTS OF MY INDIA MISSION TRIP, April 2010

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

After a very long journey from Dallas to Chicago and then on to New Delhi, India… I had a hotel stay-over that night.  Rising early, we caught a flight to Ranchi, Jharkhand.  After checking into a room and getting a bite to eat, I was ready in spirit to begin the pastor’s conference ministry (but tired in body).   That evening, I began preaching to pastors that had traveled in from their village to Ranchi for the pastors conference.  Even though the language barrier was significant, I could look at their faces and see the hunger and desire to be touched by the living God.  This conference was from Wednesday through Saturday, and God moved in a very powerful way.  It is amazing to me how, without me knowing in the Dallas area, God would be stirring in the hearts and minds of pastors half way around the world (Ranchi, Jharkhand) in preparation to hear messages that He had placed upon my heart for them!  What amazing evidence of the wonderful love and power of God to accomplish what He desires – the way He chooses to do it – with whom He selects to do it!!!  Praise be to God!  No language barrier will stop Him, no threats will stop Him, no problem will stop Him… i.e. all things are possible!

After the pastors conference, we held a crusade in Ranchi.  Then on Sunday I preached the gospel in a local church within the city.  God poured out His spirit in both settings.  People were changed and transformed.  Upon the completion of this ministry, we raced to pick up our things and headed to the airport. It was now time to begin our journey to Kerala in south India.  We flew from Ranchi to Bombay and spent the night.  We rose early to board a flight to Kerala the next day.  After landing and collecting our bags, we then traveled by car three hours to our destination, using it as a base of operation.   The next two evenings, we held crusades in Dadu’s hometown village, about 30 miles out into the country.  It was a great privilege to preach in his hometown.  After all of this ministry, the next day I started the 36 hour return to Dallas!  This was a grueling trip…but so worth it.

Even though words can’t describe the move of God adequately, allow me to summarize the most significant events of my trip:

1. Pastor’s Conference Ministry

One of the leaders that came shared with me after the meetings what he had been thinking.   He told me that he came to the conference only to respect Dadu’s invitation, not really expecting anything.  He had been to many conferences and had organized hundreds of pastors conferences over his 35 years of ministry.  So, based upon his past experience, “This would be some nice meetings and everything would be like before,” he said. Two things happened:  He went home after the first meeting and fell on his bed weeping before the Lord asking God to restore and re-ignite his spirit.  As the conference came to a close and the move of God was so powerful, he said, he had “never been so moved by God in the Spirit by such preaching!”  He went on to say, “Please return every year.  We need you here preach to us that we might be refreshed, motivated and challenged to go forward in Christ preaching the Word of Truth!”

During one of the sermons, I mentioned that the church of Jesus Christ had lost the desire to “cry out for mercy” from God and that we had allowed ourselves to think more highly of ourselves than we should.  I went on to share many other truths during my sermon.  What happened next I was not prepared for…

During the decision time, the music was playing … the call was put before the pastors to be what God wanted them to be, submitting to Him and trusting Him for their ministries, people, and lives….

All of a sudden the Spirit of God fell on them…all of them began to break before the Lord, falling to their knees, crying out to God for mercy, weeping … we stopped the music completely.

All you could hear were the cries of the pastors, rising up to the Lord, filling the air, tears of joy…the breaking of strongholds in their lives…confessing their weaknesses, and asking for increased faith… WOW!!!

Pastors crying out for mercy!

Oh my God…my God…have mercy upon us…they cried out… this continued on for almost an hour… it was a powerful demonstration of God descending upon His people and a pure heart response to His presence!!!  IT WAS AWESOME!!

At the very end of the conference we had a testimony time for the pastors.  Many pastors came forward sharing how much they had been changed by God.  But one pastor shared that about a year ago he was dragged from his home by Hindu radicals, beaten and left for dead because he had been preaching Jesus Christ to the village.  Since that time, he had been living in fear and had not shared Christ the way God wanted him to.  He was just too afraid!  “Now,” he said, “God has replaced my fear with faith and I am going back to my village to preach boldly the Word of God!”  I began to weep realizing that persecution of believers is very real, very personal and this pastor was set free to preach again!  Praise God!  Please pray for the pastors there to have boldness and God’s protection!

Persecuted Pastor

2. Crusades

During our crusades, we had at lease 50 people accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and many were healed.  This is wonderful to know that this many people will now meet us in heaven and have a new life here on earth.   Glory!

3. Church ministry

One of many amazing things happened during my preaching at the local church in Ranchi.  It was 112 degrees outside, no air conditioning inside, only a fan stirring the hot air.  I preached on how important it is to see Jesus alive in our lives as believers.  Upon my sermon invitation to the church, the entire church came forward and cried out to God.  There were 200 people weeping and singing unto the Lord.  This went on for about 30 minutes.  At this point, we had to leave to collect our things and go the airport to fly out to Bombay.  The pastor of the church waved me to him and began to tell me, “For a year, I have been praying for a spiritual breakthrough in our church.  Today, God has answered my prayer!”   What a joy, what a fellowship, what a privilege!

Church Break Through!

Even though I was traveling on a shoestring budget…(never before had I travel with so little money half way around the world)… God moved just as powerfully! He was faithful, His will was done, pastors were changed and transformed, churches moved to a new level in Christ, and people were added to the kingdom of God!

This is what I consider a wonderful success for the kingdom.  Praise be to God for His faithfulness to me, to allow me to go and Take Christ to the Nations!

If you have given to Walking in Truth Ministries, you are a part of this amazing work.  God is using you to do great things for pastors and people that no one else will go to; village pastors and people, the unreached and hard-to-reach areas.  Thank you for your support and please continue to pray and to send your support.  I need your help so much.  I would like to ask you to consider giving monthly to Walking in Truth Ministries…we are making a difference in the Kingdom of God.  There are more pastors to be stirred in the spirit and the gospel of Jesus Christ to be preached!  Please give so we can share!  God bless you as you live for Him.

Time to go! – Mission Trip to India on April 19, 2010!

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

May the Blessing of our Lord Jesus Christ be upon you all!

Well, our mission trip is upon us. I leave for Delhi, India on April 19th and Dadu leaves on Sunday, April 18th. Then it’s on to Jharkhand, India, April 20, 2010.  I will land in a city called Ranchi, Jharkhand, India.  Even though I have very limited funds this trip, God is unlimited in what He will accomplish.  God is good, all the time!  Once in Ranchi, I will begin to support the Pastors Conference during the day and public meetings in the evening.  This state is the youngest state in India, formed in 2000 and was formerly a southern part of Bihar state.  Bihar is one of the most hostile states toward Christianity in India.  In fact, we have heard of some disturbances just south of where we will be ministering.  I only share this information to underscore the great need we have for you to intercede in deep prayer for my trip.  I am so thankful for you and your willingness to pray for God’s will.

I have been pondering my privilege of taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world these past few weeks.  It is truly overwhelming that God would allow me to be used of Him in this way….Who am I? my heart cries!  Yet, many of the saints of God felt this way…

Moses said, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?”  Ex 3:11

Even David, “Then David the king went in and sat before the LORD, and he said, “Who am I, O Lord GOD, and what is my house, that Thou hast brought me this far?”  2 Sam 7:18

It is clear that as God elevates our service to and for Him, our natural person feels grossly inadequate.  This reminds me of scripture found in Philippians…

The Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory… Phil 3:21

Praise be to God that He is in the transforming business!  I go with His call, for His purpose, for His glory!

I will preach to those who are hungry for the Truth of God’s Word.  I will share His great Truth with all that will listen.  I will be spent for Him!  To God be the Glory!

How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?   And how shall they preach unless they are sent?  Rom 10:14-15

Update for our Mission Trip to India April 2010!

Monday, March 29th, 2010

May the Blessing of our Lord Jesus Christ be upon you all!

I want to give you an update on our upcoming mission trip to Jharkhand, India, April 19, 2010 –April 29, 2010.  God has been very good to us and we have now purchased our tickets for the trip!  This certainly means we are going.  Praise the Lord!   We will be traveling to the rural state of Jharkhand, India in support of ministry to the people and pastors.  This state is the youngest state in India, formed in 2000 and was formerly a southern part of Bihar state.  Bihar is one of the most hostel states towards Christianity in India.

All of India is moving toward an elusive justice for Christians that are persecuted by Hindus in India.  Even though India is known as the largest democracy in the world, freedom to worship our Lord Jesus Christ is being torn from them.   Many states now have passed Anti-Conversion Laws, which are leading to the arrests of hundreds of pastors and leaders resulting in jail.  Many believers are being attacked, tortured, and kidnapped at the hands of radicals and their homes are burned.  Think about this fact:  in 2009, in India…they averaged more than three attacks on Christians a week!

However, even with this persecution, many Indians are hungry for the Truth of God’s Word.  They are hungry for the Word of God to be preached.  They are in great need for the Truth to be spread.  They will be persecuted!  However, they see it as a blessing, because it allows God to show Himself to them.  Oh, that the church of Jesus Christ in all the world had such faith.

We must go…. We must tell… We must share Christ with them….

How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?   And how shall they preach unless they are sent?  Romans 10:14-15

The remaining WITM funding needed is only $1,700 toward this trip.  We are believing God for funding for our 2 person team and our mission efforts to win people to Christ and train many pastors!  So, again, I ask for your help today!  It is not much left to make this trip a great success.

Will you help us?  Please pray for us and generously give helping to “Take Christ to the Nations!”  All of your giving to support this life changing mission trip is tax deductible.  God will richly bless you!  You may donate in any amount by using our donation button found on our “partner with us page” of our website or you may make your check out to PHF-WITM and mail to the address below.  Please give today and together we will see God change people’s lives.

Up Coming Mission Trip to India April 2010!

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Walking in Truth Ministries(WITM) has scheduled the next mission trip for April 19, 2010 –April 29, 2010 to Jharkhand, India.  We will be traveling as a team of two this time:  Doyl Tully, Evangelist and Dadu Chacko, ministry coordinator.   Dadu is a native from India and will provide all ground support and contacts.  Dadu traveled to the US and attended Dallas Theological Seminary  graduating with a Masters in Theology.  He and his family have been attending our church for years and his heart’s desire is to return to the “gospel starved” areas of India to organize, establish, and communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ to a people that have not heard!  He has just returned from India and did some initial work in organizing pastors and leaders in the rural state of Jharkhand, India in support of our mission trip.  This state is the youngest state in India, formed in 2000 and was formerly a southern part of Bihar state.  Bihar is one of the most hostel states towards Christianity in India.  The total population is 27 million and in 30 years of Christian labor only some 17K are said to be Christians. There are millions that have never even heard of Christ!  By the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, we will strive to accomplish the following for the glory of God:

1. Pastors and Leaders Conferences in Jkarkhand:  There is a great need to stir afresh, encourage, and instruct the few Christian pastors and leaders in Jkarkhand.  This is one of the best strategies to keep the fire fanned and pushing out to the people.  To complicate this effort, there are 23 different tribal groups in this state…they must be reached.  The training of pastors and leaders will help this great need.  During each day, we will sponsor conferences for pastors and leaders in different areas to help deepen understanding, encourage hearts, and build faith as the leaders take Christ to this nation after our departure.

2. Student Convention in Kerala: We then will travel to southern Kerala in south India and will minister to the seminary students which are the future of reaching the whole of India.  Our goal is two fold:  1. to help teach and train the students in real life ministry focused efforts; 2. to motivate them upon graduating to move into the northern part of India and plant churches in the gospel starved areas.

WITM total funding required is only $5,200.  As of February 2009, we have received $0 toward this trip.  We are believing God for funding for our 2 person team and our mission efforts to win people to Christ and train many pastors!  In order for us to go on this trip, we must purchase our plane tickets very soon.  So, I need you help today!
